When we burn fossil fuels like oil, they release greenhouse gases that trap heat in our planet’s atmosphere and cause global warming. So, if we burn less fossil fuels, global warming will slow down a lot. That’s why renewable energy is so important because instead of burning fossil fuels to generate electricity, we can use natural resources.

Most places across the world already use some renewable energy, but fossil fuels are still their main source of electricity. But at COP-26, more than 40 countries agreed to phase out coal fired-power meaning that a cleaner and healthier future can be ensured.
